What Can Be Requested Through Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?

Answer

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows users to request materials that are not available through KU Libraries. This includes items that are currently unavailable (e.g., checked out, missing, or declared lost) as well as materials not owned by KU Libraries.

Requests should be submitted through WebRetrieve for materials that support your teaching, learning, and research needs.

Materials commonly requested through Interlibrary Loan include:

  • Books
  • Book chapters
  • Journal articles
  • Conference proceedings
  • Theses, dissertations, and reports
  • Microfilm or microfiche
  • Audio/visual materials
